After a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, we are back! On this week's Monday With the Midwife we are discussing how labor starts naturally and the processes that can help stimulate labor. In part one, of a two part series, Dr. Regina Kizer DNP-CNM, discusses naturally occurring hormones in the pregnant mom and baby that work in labor and also the reasons that induction of labor might be necessary. She discusses these methods of induction: breast stimulation, sexual intercourse, membrane sweeping and amniotomy (breaking the water). In part two, next week, Dr. Kizer will discuss other methods of inducing labor and the pros and cons of each method. Please like and subscribe to our channel and thank you for joining us each week!
